Education
Dr. Markert is a licensed clinical psychologist, with a B.A. from Emory University, Masters degrees from the University of Michigan and the University of Toledo, and a PhD from the University of Toledo. She did her clinical internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Medical School, and completed her PhD in 1998. Since that time, she has worked in both inpatient settings and outpatient clinics. She moved to private practice in 2007, and is a well-respected member of the clinical community.
Specialties
Dr. Markert has a busy clinical practice, providing both outpatient therapy and comprehensive psychological assessment. Assessments include evaluation of ADHD, Learning Disability and other cognitive problems related to school/work performance. Her therapy practice is grounded in Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, with utilization of Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills training. She works in therapy with adolescents and adults with a wide variety of psychological problems including: Anxiety Disorder, OCD, PTSD, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Adjustment Disorders, and Post-partum anxiety and depression.
